Can I Keep It?

I used to watch the moon when we drove home. Wedged between the car door and one of my two brothers, I’d crane my head back and over the cushions, almost pushing my nose into the glass of the back window, and watch the moon. I remember being mystified by the way the moon seemed to know exactly which car I was in, and how I took care to keep my eye on it, for fear it would give up half way there. So sometimes, when I’m coming home from far away, I like to watch the moon, just to make sure it’s still following.
